Dr. Tien Wong grew up in Houston and graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he was one of nine students elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior. He attended Baylor College of Medicine, where he was a recipient of the President’s Scholar Award, which is given to the top seven students entering the medical school class. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated with honors.
Dr. Wong completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at the world renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Following completion of his training, Dr. Wong was a staff vitreoretinal surgeon at the Wills Eye Hospital for four years before returning to Houston to join Retina Consultants of Houston.
Dr. Wong is an investigator in numerous clinical trials and co-author of many scientific papers. He serves as an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been selected one of “America’s Best Doctors” and is a Texas Monthly “Super Doc.”
